One this page is a *Lucas series calculator* and *Lucas number calculator. *Enter which Lucas number to find (starting from 0th = 2) and we'll return the number and (optionally) the entire series to that point.

## What is a Lucas Number or the Lucas Series?

The **Lucas series** is, very similarly to the Fibonacci sequence, an increasing sequence of numbers where a number in the series is calculated by adding the two previous numbers. *Unlike* the Fibonacci sequence, the first two numbers (index 0 and 1) are 2, and 1 – not 0 and 1.

A **Lucas number** is a number which appears in the Lucas sequence or alternatively the index of a number in the series. For example, the 6th Lucas number is 18, and 18 is also a Lucas number since it's in the series.

2 is considered the '0' index of the formula, followed by 1. Lucas numbers 0 through 10 (first 11 numbers) are:

## Using the Lucas Number and Lucas Series Calculator

To use the Lucas series calculator, first enter which **Lucas Number (n)** you are interested in, where 0 = 2 and 1 = 1.

After, either hit **Compute Lucas Number** to see the number in the sequence at that position, or **Show Lucas Series** to see all numbers in the series up to the index.

*Afterwards, try the other calculators and tools.*
